Anish is a Director with our Asia-Pacific Tax Practice based in Hong Kong which he joined in July 2015. He provides advice on operational tax matters in the Asia-Pacific region working with clients in the financial services space.

Prior to relocating to Hong Kong Anish spent 10 years with EY in the United Kingdom and India providing a range of tax advisory services to financial services clients.

Anish is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance (Commerce).

He is also a regular speaker on Customer Tax Reporting matters at various industry forums sharing his regional experience with financial institutions.

Professional Experience

Anish advises on FATCA and CRS matters to various financial institutions in Asia-Pacific region.

He is now heavily involved with the assurance programs for FATCA and CRS.

He has worked on multiple FATCA Quality Assurance Reviews across Asia Pacific for a number of financial services clients and assisted them in remediating the gaps where identified.

Anish is assisting many large family offices in reviewing their group structures and assisting them in complying with FATCA and CRS.

Anish has extensive experience specific to process and control design and remediation, creation of procedures manuals, performance of compliance audits for large multi-national corporate groups, assisting with the preparation of audit defence responses, presentation of client training sessions, and performance of compliance/readiness assessments.

He is also currently a key advisor on FATCA and CRS implementation projects for several large multinational financial institutions in banking and capital markets space.

In addition to IRD in Hong Kong, Anish has also worked with authorities in Malaysia, Singapore, Mainland China and Taiwan on the development of CRS in these jurisdictions.

In addition to FATCA and CRS, Anish has led almost all FTT engagements within the UK and has been a trusted advisor on FTT matters for a number of top tier multinational banks and broker dealers globally.
