Ahead of the conference in November, we had the chance to speak with Jean-Francois Harvey, Global Managing Partner of Harvey Law Group (HLG). Mr. Harvey is recognized internationally as an expert in Immigration Law, and he brings a wealth of experience in providing comprehensive immigration law services to corporations and high net worth individuals. Harvey Law Group is also the Founding Sponsor of the Investment Immigration Summit (now known as Global Migration & Wealth Management) with Beacon Events.
In this interview, Mr. Harvey shares how he has seen the industry evolve after being in the practice for 27 years.
- In one sentence, how would you describe the state of the investment immigration industry today?
The state of the industry is one in perpetual changes and adjustment. The effort needed to just stay informed and more importantly, to understand the fine lines and the “in between the lines” is quite demanding and calls for a lot of professional discipline on all aspects.
- What are the biggest challenges that your company is facing over the next 12 months?
In the case of HLG, the challenges are positive ones since most of them are related to the increase in demand for VIP Mobility all over the world. Hence, busy we are and busier we are getting…
- How do you see the investment immigration industry evolving over the next few years?
There is a lot of talks about consolidation and smaller players to be absorbed by the bigger one etc. Considering HLG’s position in the market, we could see this as good news but quite frankly, I do not think this will happen. I have been doing this for 27 years now and the small organizations (10 or less employees) have always played an important role in the industry. I believe that the small firm model is here to stay.
